Technology on my subjects

Many of us say that we do not have technology on our career, well I will try to find the elements wich have to helped to me to make easier the most complicated things. We live surrounded of many technologies things and we are so used to these, that we do not notice the rest. I mean technology for everybody could be computers, mp3's, cell phones, etc. But we can find it in a abject as simple like a goniometer. It is truth, this faculty and our career do not spotlight like the modernst one, however, without these pieces, we are not be at the same level.

First of all, in every subject, in every single class we use the data show and the computer, objects present for a long time ago in our lives, but the frecuency that we use them now, is different, without them we would advance to 10 k/h. They allow us to have all the material able in the web and that facilitates a lot of things. In the end we save the precious time.
In biology and histology classes utilized microscope and of course in the english ones: the computer.
Internet is a tool that is and will be always present, in everything! Nowadays we can not be disconnected, because every minute a so important information is being uploaded (in your personal mail, the class mail, etc). If you do not have internet you are dead in these career, just like that. There are no excuses. I think is a little unfair because maybe not everybody have the money and library's computers are of the old-world.
By another far hand we have the physical therapy instruments: All of these new to us and employed in the functional anatomy classes. I think the first one was our dear goniometer, a simple instrument wich looks like a rule mixed with a protactor, but works to measure the grade of our articulations. Others are the flowmeters and the stethoscope. Yes, they are not the most complex, but what do we do, the physical therapist without them?

I can not imagine how would be our student life with more technology. I really do not know if we really need it, for some reason we are the best. Some people say, as a science area career, we need to be more and more connected with the last technology.
By the moment we just need this, but I know later we will have to keep us enlightened or we can lose the war of the technology in the market world. We want it or not, it is already here and every little change could change our knowledge and our work forever.

Challenges in my discipline

Hello everyone. This time we come back to talk about my careerPhysical Therapy is the second highest valued and paid after medicine, nevertheless the breach wich separe them is to big.
Let see what are the dificulties it has to cross, I mean what are the problems.
First of all in social matters, Physical Therapy is seen like the discipline chosen because they do not reach for medicine and people has no a good culture about it. Very few people know what a physical therapist really does and also as it is not first consult, nobody can go if the doctor does not ask it. Our consult is so much cheaper than going to a doctor, so if we were first consult, people would save a lot of money because, you know we can start to heal without invade your body.We have to spread this, a strong pain can be resolved just with a move. And how do we do it? Making Physical therapy like a first consult.
Directly relationed with social matters is the economic resources and with this is the technology, but this is not just a problem of this discipline, all the health disciplines have this typical issue: Private sectors has more and better resources, more technology, more machine that is so important here, because it does the work faster and people obviously is going to prefer these ones, so if we do not equilibrate this situation now, we will never can to reach medicine or give to everybody the best service posible.
In the education area, I think we are ok. We have almost the same education and subjects that the rest of the disciplines . The problems that I see are that in many institutes you can take this career and obviously it is not the same, because this places do not make you a professional, they do not know everything that they have to know and nevertheless this people has the grade of physical therapist and by another hand the specialties are obtained just for little courses and not necesarialy like an extension of the university career like in medicine.
Despite of all of this, physical therapy is growing and growing everyday so we can be sure that it will have a better place soon.

Things that I would improve in my faculty

Well I can imagine if you read my title you would say ''Oh, more complaints about it!''I am conscious that with you, my dear readers, are mostly of my faculty, so we have a lot of things in common about it.
The first reaction when I came here, to the faculty I found it beautiful from the outside, but inside it looked like a public clinic so I just would like a group of people be responsible to restore it in the order the faculty look fresher.I really don't know what is the current problem of here, maybe is about money and the investments that are done. I know, much of the money goes to investigations, aside to the students. For example: there is a big problem with the technology, specially with the computers: are very few and always are damaged and are too slow, so please I know the university can do a better effort.
By another hand I feel dissatisfied about the management of the garbage: we don't have a real recycling program and in this times is world important make conscience about it and more important as faculty of medicine (health sciences to be exactly) . With this measure we all will be beneficiated, we just cannot permit this situation keep increasing. I don't know about others faculties, but I think it should be an obligation almost as also it should be the green areas to relax!This and others things bothers a little, others like the aprobation system: all the exams are failing and if you reprove one, you have to lose a whole year, that is unfair! one, you have to lose a whole year, that is unfair!
Ok. Not everything is bad here. Faculty of medicine I love you anyway and I'm very proud to be part of you.
